Datsyuk a (Scape) Goat
Québec City Thundercats GM Jordan Schartner pulled the trigger on a major trade today. Frustrated by what seems to be a Liberty Cup hangover, Schartner shipped out team-leading scorer and franchise player Pavel Datsyuk to Indianapolous. The 'Cats will welcome two-way centre Mikko Koivu and point-producing defenseman Kyle Quincey in exchange.
When asked for comment, Québec's head coach Greg Adams was surprised by the news: "I thought Pavel was here to stay, but that's what happens when the team struggles. I'm sure Koivu and Quincey will look good in the purple and silver sequins."
The Thundercats also announced the outright release of Jordan Leopold. Insiders say the 29-year-old defender was only on the team because he shares a first name with the neurotic GM.
Goats GM Scott Snowden was thrilled to here Datsyuk was availible, and wasted no time pulling the trigger to bring the talanted Russian to Indy. With depth at defense and up and comers in the system this deal was a no brainer. Look out for what could be a very potent top line in Datsyuk-Nash-Hossa!!
